Ummm... hi

Did I miss a couple of days?

Ok, no point in trying to excuse my way out of this one. I'm due a serious 'time-out' and that's all there is to it.

Sometimes Radar does things that are time-out worthy, but then he explains that it wasn't him, but rather his imaginary friends doing the bad deed. And Radar was clever enough to appoint his hands to be his imaginary friends so that when they're caught red-handed, it's unclear to me whether it was Radar or Bim and Mum-Bim doing the deed. So now, when a copious amount of water is splashed out of the tub onto the bathroom floor, I have to ask if it was Radar or Bim. Either way though, someone gets a time-out, even if it means that Radar has to stand beside the time-out pad while his hands serve their 2 minute term.

Which is just to say that there's no getting out of a time-out when a time-out is deserved... and in my case, it is most certainly deserved.

And now I'm in that familiar procrastinator's position... you know... like when you mean to write your friend, but you keep forgetting or putting it off - you even ignore the couple of e-mails or facebook messages that your friend sent you. Then you get to a point where three months have passed and you feel that your friend deserves more than a few lines in an e-mail. So you put it off just a little longer until you have time to write a longer, more thoughtful e-mail. Then two birthdays and Christmases have passed and you feel that your friend really, really would be insulted by a simple e-mail and that not only should you write a very long letter, but that letter should include the dates of when you're coming to visit. Then 10 years have passed and you feel that your friend probably hates you and wouldn't even want to hear from you. And all this could have been avoided if you'd just sent those stupid few lines.

Why can't procrastinators like me act on what they perfectly know... that a minute or two now, can save hours of future anxiety. There's not a day that goes by when I don't waste at least a half hour of time watching tv, playing solitary gin rummy or some other non-productive activity. And it takes less than half an hour to do a simple blog post. Maybe instead of giving up sugar for Lent, I should have given up not blogging...

Ah well... so there you have it. I'm not organized enough to write you a summary of the past two months, nor do I think you particularly want to read a "Christmas letter" type summary of what we've been doing (and you probably didn't really want to read all my self-analyzing, mea culpa crap about being a procrastinator).

So instead I'll just leave you with some pictures from our most recent house guests whom we will be very sad to take to the airport this afternoon! As always - a wonderful visit (although not having a fourth for dominos proved to be downright awful!) and we'll miss Marco, Frank and X until we get up there sometime in the near future!!!

Let's start with these... not seemingly great or interesting pictures, but Marco insisted that I post them... she seemed to think that someone out there might like them... she even giggled and smirked about it... as if there was a sinister reason for posting the pictures... that they might provoke feelings of jealousy in someone.

But anyway, here they are...

And then here's a whole bunch more from our long weekend at the Arenal Volcano / SkyTram-zipline & hot springs.

Clearly I need to lose 20 lbs and go zip lining again, because those are perfect "BEFORE" pictures. Except for the whole smiling and loving life part...
